Greek unemployment rate down to 16.6 pct in October

Greek unemployment rate fell to 16.6 pct of the workforce in October 2019, from 16.8 pct in September and 18.5 pct in October 2018, Hellenic Statistical Authority said on Thursday.

The statistics service, in a monthly report on seasonally-adjusted unemployment, said that the number of employed people was 3,926,163 in October, while the number of unemployed was 780,913, up 1.7 pct and down 11.2 pct respectively compared with October 2018. These figures were almost unchanged for emloyed people and down 1.5 pct for unemployed people in comparison with September 2019.
