Turkish military aircraft flew over island of Ro

A formation of two Turkish military aircraft flew over the Greek island of Ro on Tuesday morning, the Hellenic National Defence General Staff (HNDGS) announced.

The two F-16s entered the Athens Flight Information Region (FIR) without submitting flight plans at 10:35 and flew over the remote island at 10:37, at a height of 16,500 and 16,000 feet, respectively.

The Turkish aircraft were identified and intercepted by Greek fighter planes, in accordance with standard practice and international rules.
