Evacuation of occupied building in Exarchia concluded

Police have concluded an operation launched early on Tuesday for the evacuation of a building in the Athens district of Exarchia, which had been occupied by foreign nationals.

In an announcement on Tuesday afternoon, police said that 138 foreign nationals - 66 men, 44 women and 28 minors - had been found inside the building.

All the foreign nationals were sent to the immigration office for identification, after which they will be sent to organised accommodation centres.

Police are currently sealing the building, which had been emptied in April but reoccupied a few days later.
