Everything done in the last two months is based on what we have built, SYRIZA's Tsakalotos says

"Everything that has been done in the last two months is based on what we have built", SYRIZA's MP responsible for financial issues, Euclid Tsakalotos, said on Thursday in an interview with the Athens-Macedonian News Agency's radio station Praktoreio 104.9 FM.

"Mr. Mitsotakis and Mr. Staikouras present the financial data of the last two months as a great achievement of ND government. They must have some modesty, because it is obvious, not only to every economist but to every citizen, that everything that has been done in the last two months is based on what we have built [...] One can't believe that all of a sudden New Democracy came and the revenues was magically increased", Tsakalotos said.

"What is important for me as responsible for financial issues, is the draft budget", Tsakalotos noted.

On the issue of surpluses, Tsakalotos stressed that SYRIZA government "had a plan, had credibility and the creditors would get the money from the reserves and therefore we would be able to reduce the target by 1 pct to 2.5 pct".

"This was a good strategy for Greece that would reduce austerity and I really do not understand why New Democracy did not continue it", he added.
