Mitsotakis: Digital transformation of the state is a 'one-way street'

Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis said that the digital transformation of the state is a 'one-way street,' during his meeting with the leadership of the Ministry of Digital Governance on Friday.

Mitsotakis added that "the state must be at the service of the citizen," and stressed that the public administration and its services would be simplified and become digital in order to "be able to communicate easily with the public at home or at the workplace."

During the meeting, Digital Governance Minister Kyriakos Pierrakakis briefed the premier of his meeting earlier with civil defense and telecommunications representatives on making the Europe-wide emergency number 112 fully operational by the end of the year. Mitsotakis requested that telecoms companies also work on an interim solution by next month, for dangerous emergencies that can be foreseen.
