PM Tsipras: I believe that SYRIZA gov't proved there is another way

"I believe that SYRIZA government proved there is another way" stated Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras in an interview with the website Propaganda on Saturday adding that after the exit from the memoranda "we are free to form the conditions".

He said that in 2015 the country had empty coffers, unemployment rate 28 pct, 10 pct interest rates and the people were in despair. Today, he said, we have the lowest interest rate we ever had, 35 billion euros in our coffers, the unemployment has dropped by 9 points and the minimum wage increased by 11 pct "we are at a point to restore the collective negotiations and the normality in labour... however, it is a fact that we have not yet achieved to create the feeling, to the large majority of the society, that this change will become stronger and stronger in their every day life".

Unfortunately, Tsipras said, we have not seen yet how much better can the Left, with its political plan, can go because it is only 8 months that we are free to form better conditions for the country.

Tsipras said that SYRIZA did not distance itself from its ideological roots and its main orientation which is to defend the people of labour, the non-privileged, and the many. He brought as example the fact that it did not hesitate to proceed to the Prespes Agreement because "we draw strength from our faith that it is in the country's interest and the certainty that a Left government should make major changes..."
