Federica Mogherini on Prespes Agreement anniversary: Positive steps in the western Balkans

High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Federica Mogherini on Monday made the following statement for the one-year anniversary from the signing of the Prespes Agreement.

"I would like to start with something positive because today it is the one-year anniversary from the signing of the historic Prespes Agreement between Greece and North Macedonia. I believe that we must remind ourselves the authority's strength and courage and the positive steps taken in the western Balkans and I hope that the state-members will remember these steps forward, particularly in the coming days when a serious decision will be reached for the start of the negotiations for the accession of Albania and North Macedonia to the EU. I hope and believe that this should happen as soon as possible" Mogherini said.
