Greece's Deputy Minister of Tourism, Sofia Zacharaki, visited Limassol, Cyprus, together with the President of the Democratic Rally party, Averof Neophytou, and her Cypriot counterpart, Savvas Perdios, Deputy Minister of Shipping of Cyprus, Vassilis Dimitriadis, other deputies and executives of the hotel and tourism industry of Cyprus.
Zacharaki visited Limassol marina and the ship "Jewel Of The Seas", as well as the village of Lania.
"Months ago, we started a substantial cooperation, which is sealed by the presence mounted here but also by an intensification of the promotion of cruises, one of the many items that we can promote together," Zacharaki said, adding that specific actions between Cyprus and Greece were launched during the recent visit of the Deputy Minister of Tourism of Cyprus to the conference held in Athens recently by the World Tourism Organisation.
"Now, there will be the first observatory for the Eastern Mediterranean, for sustainable tourism and maritime tourism in collaboration with the University of the Aegean and, of course, Cyprus together with Greece have to benefit a lot from this observatory. At the same time, because I know the personal interest of Cyprus' Deputy Minister of Tourism for authentic experiences, as he says, which is the new trend in hospitality, I probably prefer the word hospitality to the word tourism," she noted.
