Mitsotakis revokes decision allowing fans to attend football games

Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis on Tuesday revoked a decision allowing a limited number of fans to attend football matches.

Government sources said that Mitsotakis, after taking into account the rising number of coronavirus cases in Europe, as well as the fact that such an outcome cannot be ruled out in Greece, decided that allowing the presence of even a small number of fans at football games sends the wrong message to the citizens, at a time when all congregation should be avoided and the health measures must be strictly followed.
